The Day Before Winter ~ Kit - Knitting Crochet Project Bag

Welcome to The Day Before Winter Kit, this will be the 7th year we have offered an extra special Kit around the welcoming of the Winter and upcoming festive season.

These kits are to include a Project Bag in size of your choice (lots of different sizes and styles to choose from) and a DPN/Circular Cozy PLUS lots of secret goodies!

The Day Before Winter Kit which is a celebration of Winter and all things cozy. It's a parcel of gorgeous items designed for you to open on The Day Before Winter which is will be 21st December in the UK however that doesn't stop anyone else joining in worldwide, this Kit is a celebration of Winter and a wonderful way to welcome in the changing seasons. 

In the photos you will find the fabrics I have chosen, the actual print will be a fun surprise as I will select one of these fabrics and pair it with a co-ordinating base and zip. You pick which bag size you would like and I then select the fabrics and add lots of lovely extras to make these Kits a real treat! These kits are STRICTLY LIMITED in number! 

I can reveal that two of the extra goodies added will be a set of five stitch markers that feature a lovely patterned solid ring stitch marker with added beads and a handmade progress keeper (the 2021 Kit had a super cute hot chocolate mug) plus a teabag of lovely tea purchased from Bird and Blend Tea Co (who make the most delicious high quality teas!).

The other items could be a hand warmer, zipper pulls, pens, candle, a small decoration to welcome Winter, commercial yarn mini, candle, reusable hot drinks cup, cards, small colouring project card..its going to be super hard to choose what to add I have so many cute ideas but there will be 2 or 3 surprise gifts. There will be no Christmas themed items in this, all the fabrics and items are designed around the theme of Winter.

The actual print on your bag will be a fun surprise but will be one of the fabrics shown in the photos - not any of the photos of the made up bags/these are for bag example only - due to the amount of Kits I make I can not guarantee a print or reserve any fabric but I will always try my best to avoid a certain print if you contact me and let me know it's not to your taste. The DPN/Circular needle cozy print is not shown so it will be a complete surprise but its very in keeping with the the time of year.

Each kit will be shipped around the end of November, slightly earlier for international orders and I highly recommend you select a Tracked service due to the time of year. All Kits will be posted on Friday 2nd December due to Royal Mail strike action and all parcels will be upgraded to a Tracked service.

DRAWSTRING (image is the pumpkin and gnome bag)

Small drawstring bag ideal for socks and other small projects such as toys, etc.

This super soft bag closes with a rope pull and as you can see from the photos, is the perfect size for one or two balls of yarn and circular needles or DPNs.

Fully lined inside with a co-coordinating fabric. I have not interfaced this bag so it's nice and squishy but as you can see it's still strong enough to stand up on its own. Made with high quality cotton fabrics.

The loop on the bag is perfect for fitting over your hand so the bag can dangle from your wrist - great for commuter knitting! The bag can be folded down so that the yarn can be exposed and you can then pop it on your wrist and you can knit out of the bag, keeping the yarn safely tucked inside and your hands free to knit.

The size of this bag is approximately 9.5" height, 10" wide and has a base depth of 3.5".

BOX BAG (image is the sparkly pink/cream bag)

This Box shaped knitting and crochet project bag is perfect for smaller projects such as socks, hats and mittens.  The bag closes with a zip and is the perfect size for a one skein project on circular needles or DPNs. 

Fully lined inside with no exposed seams with a co-coordinating fabric. This bag has been interfaced however it's still nice and squishy so it can be popped inside your handbag or car glove box but as you can see it's still strong enough to stand up on its own. 

The handle on the bag makes carrying this bag around easy and this can be looped over your hand so you can knit from it while walking. There is a small tab each end of the zip for easy closing and opening.

The size of this bag is approximately 4.5" wide, 3.5" height and 8.5" length. 

SMALL BAG (shown as Owl bag)

Small zip bag ideal for socks and other small projects such as a light shawl, toys, etc. and fits one ball/skein of yarn and circulars or DPNs. Little project bag that's ideal for taking out and about and popping into a handbag or other bag. Closes with a zip and is the perfect size for one ball of yarn and circular needles or DPNs.

Fully lined inside with a coloured co-coordinating fabric. Made with high quality cotton fabrics.

The size of this bag is approximately (when laid flat) 7.25" height, 10" wide and has a base depth of 3.75".

MEDIUM BAG (image is the green and gold metallic print)

A zip bag ideal for socks and other small projects such as light shawls, toys, etc.

This bag closes with a zip and as you can see from the photos, is the perfect size for one or two balls of yarn and circular needles or DPNs. The inside photo has a complete ball of 100g West Yorkshire Spinners and you can see there is still plenty of room!

LARGE BAG (image is the Alpaca print)

A great sized Project Bag that is perfect for all your knitting and stitching, ideal size for larger projects such as shawls, jumpers, cardies, etc.

You can see from the photos that it's very roomy inside and can hold quite a few balls of yarn and needles easily. Perfect for storing several small projects or garments, as you can see in the photos I have placed three skeins that haven't been balled or caked yet. To give you an accurate picture of sizing, you can see in the photo that I have two complete balls of yarn, three skeins and also 13" long bamboo needles all inside with room to spare - this bag is a whopper! So you are able to keep all your yarn and needles safe and cosy while you aren't working them!

The large loop fits over your hand so the bag can dangle from your wrist - great for commuter knitting! 

The style of this bag is a wedge so it opens up nice and wide and stands up on its own. The size measures (approximately) 13" wide, 12.75" high and 5" in depth of the bottom wedge. A 14" zip closes the bag and allows it to be really opened wide.

BASKET (image is a blue Mountain print)

Great large basket ideal for storing a garment or a couple of WIPs for keeping next to your favourite crafting spot.  Grab handles made from fabric on either side make it really easy to carry around.  The Canvas material is waterproof and each basket has a solid Canvas base meaning it would be ideal to pop next to you in the garden.

Each basket as three outside pockets and one inside pocket.  The outside pockets are lined in the same interior lining material and these are interfaced meaning they will keep their shape. The inside also has a clip thats ideal for storing stitch markers. 

Each basket measures has a base measuring (approx) 11.5" width and 5.5" depth and the outside measures 9" in height, as you can see from the photo the inside opens up lovely and wide (around 12" by 8") to store lots of yarny goodness inside! The photos show how easily 4 skeins of yarn fit inside.

Please keep in mind that as Canvas is a natural material, there maybe the odd slub/bump/mark/line on the fabric but this a natural element and I will always try and ensure these little marks are on the base of the bag.

Knitters Comprehensive Bag (image is Pink Leopard Bag)

This is a brand new design and launching with this Birthday Kit! As always with my designs, I have tried to include as many useful features as possible...

• a large zip opening across the top of the bag allowing it to be opened wide
• a smaller zip opening on the front of the bag for storing notions, etc.  When you open this pocket the inside back is the Black canvas and the front is the back of the print fabric, it is not lined.
• a clear PVC pocket across the back large enough for folded A4 paper, making it ideal to stand on a table in front of you or site beside you and display the pattern you're working from
• a grab handle across the back and this can be also used to display pins
• inside there is another pocket
• also inside is an opening keyring which is ideal for storing stitch marker

As you can see from the images the bag can store 3 cakes of 4ply yarn with room which makes it ideal for garments (yarn is for photo purposes only and not included).

Made with high quality heavyweight Black water resistant canvas fabric and the print fabric being a lighter weight canvas. Fully lined inside with a coloured co-coordinating pink cotton fabric.

The size of this bag is approximately 9.5" height, 15" wide and base of 5".

TRUG (shown with Halloween print)

Each Trug as three outside pockets of various sizes, one is great for slipping in the blades of scissors to keep them handy but safe and one is prefect for a folded piece of A4 paper so those patterns can be stored neatly. Inside is small slip pocket for slipping in knitting needles or crochet hooks to help stop stitches sliding off the needles along with another larger pocket and a canvas loop style pocket which is just the right size for holding two cakes of yarn stacked on top of each other (shown with a 100g 4ply yarn cake).

The Trug has a leather handle that is great for using to carry the bag but drops down neatly into either side to keep it out the way as you work from the Trug. The leather can be swapped out for canvas to become Vegan Friendly, please leave a note box when you add the item to cart or email within 24 hours of placing the order to make this change.

Made from high quality Canvas material that is waterproof and each basket has a solid Canvas base meaning it would be ideal to pop next to you in the garden. Although not lined, the inside seams are all overlocked so there are no raw seams to fray.

DPN/CIRCULAR NEEDLE COZY INFORMATION (image is the DPN cozy with faces on)
A cute little DPN cosy to keep your stitches perfectly organised on 6" DPNs or Double Pointed Needles. Can also be used with circular needles.

To use with DPNs simply arrange the stitches onto the needles and line up your needles, position the knitted garment between the snaps and close. To use with circular needles, just use as you would for DPNs and pull the cord out between the snap and inside edge of the cosy. Simples! All stitches kept neat and tidy so no more needles working their lose and dropping stitches or being poked by a needle when pulling your project from a bag.

Fully lined inside and lightly interfaced. I use my own designed pattern templates for cutting the fabrics therefore both sides of the cosy have the fabric pattern the right way up unlike some which have one side the right way and one upside down.

The size measures approx 7" wide and 2.25" high.
